A Dalit youth and a member of the Bhim Army succumbed to injuries, two weeks after a deadly attack on him by two OBC youths in Hanumangarh, Rajasthan.

21-year-old Vinod Meghwal was attacked by two youths on June 5 after a fight broke out on the day of Ambedkar Jayanti in Kikraliya village of Rawatsar police station area of ​​Hanumangarh district; he died during treatment in Sriganganagar.

It is alleged that Rakesh Sihag and Anil Sihag, two boys from the OBC community had beaten Vinod with a hockey stick for 25-30 minutes.

After Vinod`s death, outrage spread among the family members and villagers.

The relatives of the deceased allege that Vinod has been murdered because on May 24, Vinod was assaulted by the people of the dominant classes of the village in a dispute over the removal of Ambedkar`s banner on the house

The police arrested two of the four people following the complaint of the victim`s family.

A report has been registered against both the accused for tearing the poster and assaulting the youth.

According to the FIR, the accused also made casteist remarks while beating the youth.

Mukesh, the cousin of the deceased and an eyewitness, has said that Vinod was beaten up because he had complained against these people.

Mukesh said that Vinod had earlier celebrated Ambedkar`s birth anniversary along with other youths and pasted posters outside his house.
