KOTA: Hotel Vrindawati , a Rajasthan Tourist Development Corporation (RTDC) unit in Bundi, is being shut as it is included in the list of 15 hotels the corporation is closing down. The RTDC hotel in Bundi had been incurring about Rs 8 to 9 lakhs loss for last couple of years. At least 15 RTDC hotels in Rajasthan are set be shut down this months as they are said to be running in losses and generating financial crises.Decision to shut down 15 RTDC hotels in the state, running under loss and generating financial crisis in the corporation, was taken in a high-level meeting held in state capital Jaipur on November 2, told Dharm Singh Choudhary, manager, RTDC hotel Bundi.He added that Hotel Vrindawati is one of them. The letter regarding the decision to initiate the closing process of Hotel Vrindawati in Bundi was received on Monday, he said.Choudhary said, the decision to shut down 15 RTDC units was taken mainly due to their mounting losses and generating financial crisis for the state government for the last few years. RTDC Hotel Vrindawati situated amid the spontaneous nature's beauty in front of Jait Sagar Lake , below Aravalli hills in Bundi was started in May 1993 and gave a boost to tourists inflow resulting into five-fold rise in tourists footfall for over five years from 2005 to 2012 but later negligent attitude of the local administration and municipal council towards tourists industry in Bundi, the number of tourists arriving in Bundi fell considerably.Due to carelessness of the administration towards managing RTDC hotel in Bundi and promoting local tourism, Vrindawati hotel could not get mobile connectivity despite repeated demands..
