Our CorrespondentNawanshahr, July 14A motivational visit by Education Secretary Krishan Kumar last week in self-made smart schools at Takarala and Bhaddi villages in the Balachaur subdivision of the district has started yielding encouraging results. He also asked the District Education Officer and District Smart School Mentors to initiate efforts to rope in NGOs and other communities to realise the dream of setting up digital classrooms in rural government schools. The District Education Officer, Secondary, Harcharan Singh, Deputy District Education Officer, Amrik Singh, district smart school mentors Principal Rajneesh Kumar, Raj Bhatia, Ravinder Surapuri and Baljinder Singh Virk had held a meeting with representatives of the Khawayeesh Sewa Society to provide financial assistance for the purpose. A comprehensive plan keeping in view the number of students and the estimated cost of setting up digital classrooms in different schools has been prepared. DEO Harcharan Singh also asked the teachers to mobilise community participation to bring improvement in school education and make it a mass movement..
