DC flags off school buses for children of Vanita Ashram

Tribune News ServiceJalandhar, September 19The Deputy Commissioner, Varinder Kumar Sharma, on Thursday flagged off two school buses to ferry students of Gandhi Vanita Ashram to educational institutions of the district. Sharma, accompanied by Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Paramvir Singh, said: “The administration has signed memorandum of understandings (MoUs) with CT Group of Institutions, St Soldier Group of Institutions, MGN Public School, HMV College, KMV College, Government Senior Secondary School, Nehru Garden, Government Senior Secondary School for Girls, Government Primary School, Adarsh Nagar, DSSD Senior Secondary School, Basti Nau and SD Phullarwan Girls Senior Secondary School to provide education to the students of Gandhi Vanita Ashram free of cost. He said: “It is the moral duty of the administration to make the education accessible to all children.” The DC told that the decision of sending them in educational institutions outside the ashram would give wings to children’s aspirations and empower them to work hard in their lives by getting a quality education..
