Over 60 farmers attended the event in which the department sensitised them to sow wheat seeds after treatment with chloropyriphos and Bitabax chemicals. Chief Agriculture Officer Nazar Singh said there was a need of 4 ml of chloropyriphos and 2.5 gm of bitabax for one kg of wheat seeds. He said the farmers must treat wheat seeds with these two chemicals before sowing as these would save the crop from various diseases and termites.
