Kapurthala: Punjab State Warehouse Corporation Managing Director Yashanjit Singh on Friday said the state had an adequate quantity of gunny bags for wheat procurement and farmers and arhtiyas would not face any difficulty during the season. He also visited Kapurthala Dana Mandi and talked to farmers and arhtiyas to have ground-level information about the procurement process. He said it was estimated that 1.3 lakh metric tonnes of wheat would be procured by various agencies in the state for which arrangements had been made for gunny bags and storage. He said the government would procure every grain of the farmers' crop for which the procurement of wheat had been extended till May 30.
