The shopkeepers were advised and warned not to sell electrical items without genuine ISI mark and valid BIS licence number. The customers should purchase only ISI marked cables and they can check the authenticity of the manufacturer and the BIS licence number through the BIS website www.bis.org.in while purchasing any cable from the market.” On inquiring about the material being sold by them, shop owners showed ignorance about the ISI mark without manufacturers’ addresses..
