Excelsior CorrespondentJAMMU Aug 22: One day convention of Pahari people was held at Conference Hall Dak Bungalow Rajouri in which several delegates belonging to Pahari ethnicity from different parts of Rajouri and Poonch showed their participation. All the speakers during the convention raised the demand for providing ST status to them which is a genuine issue being ignored by the earlier Governments due to unknown reasons. They further said that since 1989 almost all Governors and Chief Ministers have recommended to the Govt of India to grant ST status to the Pahari Tribe. Delegates added that every member of the tribe will show remarkable gratitude to the Government for rendering ST status.
