Ishfaq was killed in an encounter that started between the security forces and terrorists in Kulgam’s Tantrypora Saturday morning.
He was reportedly involved in the killing of Lieutenant Ummer Fayaz who was abducted and shot dead by militants in Kashmir’s Shopian district in May this year.

As per the latest report by ANI, the encounter was still going on and the mobile internet services were temporarily suspended in Shopian and Kulgam districts after the killing of Ishfaq Padder.
In May it was reported that Umar Fayaz was abducted by five to six terrorists from his relative’s house.
