Kharkai, Subarnarekha in spate, East Singhbhum on alert

JAMSHEDPUR: East Singhbhum officials put relief and rescue personnel on alert on Saturday after the Kharkai and the Subarnarekha began to flow close to the danger mark. "The water level of the Kharkai has touched 127.98 metres, about 1.2 metres below the red mark. This may lead to further rise in the water level of the Kharkai and Subarnarekha. Besides East Sighbhum, Ranchi, Bokaro, Daltonganj and Dumka may also witness rain over the next two days.
