Deputy Commissioner seeks cos' CSR funds for development

We will have to reassess our spending plan," said a company executive on the condition of anonymity.Sources say chief minister Raghubar Das will likely convene meeting with DCs of all the districts soon to discuss the plan to ensure private and public companies contribute part of their CSR funds for the welfare of the state. "We will submit a proposal to the DC by August 8 after consulting with senior officials," said UCIL spokesperson Stanley Hembrem.A senior executive of a Tata Group company, who attended the meeting, said on anonymity, "Contributing towards the larger good of society has been part of the core values of our group companies. "The proposed meeting in Ranchi is expected to take place after August 8," said an administrative official.After the Centre made it compulsory for private and public companies to spend two percent of their annual profit on CSR initiative, Raghubar Das urged Jharkhand-based companies to join hands with the state government to improve Jharkhand's socio, economic, health, education infrastructure..
