IMA seeks arms licence for doctors as assault cases spike

JAMSHEDPUR: The doctors in Steel City have decided to approach the East Singhbhum administration to seek arms licence to protect themselves against attacks by family members of patients. "Instead of relying on the police for round-the-clock security, we have decided to take the help of private security firms," Jamshedpur's IMA secretary Mrityunjay Singh said. He added that further discussion on the matter will be held in the next meeting later during this month.The IMA functionary also said that all the doctors have been advised to approach the police and apply for arms licence.
