JODHPUR: Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested a person for raping a three-and-a-half year girl near Rai Ka Bagh railway station here on Wednesday night. They were to catch the train for Ramdeora.“Around 11 pm, Kailash saw the family sleeping with this victim beside her mother. The girl had been sleeping on the railway platform with her mother when the accused took her away and raped her in shrubs little away from the station.Swinging into action on the complaint of the parents, the GRP launched a search and found the accused, identified as Kailash Chandra (21), with the girl in the shrubs.“We arrested the accused and sent the girl to the hospital immediately who was in bad condition,” said SHO Ravindra Bothra.He said that a family engaged in farm labour had been sleeping at the railway platform Number 1 at the Ria Ka Bagh railway station on Wednesday night. He took the girl and went away,” Bothra said.On finding the girl missing , first the family searched for her around but not finding her anywhere, they finally informed the GRP.“We began search in and around the station and found the girl being violated by the accused in shrubs near the station,” the official said.According to police, Kailash was badly drunk and had come to Jodhpur from Asind in Bhilwara to Jodhpur on night itself for labour work.Bothra said that had the police not reached on time, the accused could have either fled from the spot or could have inflicted more harm to the girl in drunken state..
