Summary:

The sources informed TOI that the prison staff had forgot to remove a stone slab from ward 58, aka the “TV room.” Used until recently to place an old television set, the stone slab proved fatal for the Pakistani national Shakerullah during brawl with other inmates.“An old TV was perched on the Kota stone slab, but recently that obsolete TV was replaced by a new wall mounted LED screen,” an official said. One inmate, Jai Prakash had fired upon gangster Anandpal Singh and his aide Balbir Banuda. JAIPUR: A little bit of foresight by a warden of the Jaipur Central Jail could have averted the violent brawl in which a 45-year-old Pakistani inmate was killed on Wednesday. While the TV set was replaced, the prison staff did not take away the stone slab, which came handy for the four accused to use as weapon in attacking Shakreullah on Wednesday. The police in its preliminary investigation had learnt that there were nine inmates inside the room, and brawl over TV volume led to Shakerullah’s murder. However, the prisons across the state continue failed to learn their lessons..
