HC rejects Asaram’s bail plea

JODHPUR: In yet another blow to Asaram, Jodhpur bench of Rajasthan High Court here on Thursday rejected his plea for interim bail which he sought to attend to his ailing wife. Justice Mehta was hearing the plea after Justice Sangeet Lodha refused to hear the plea on Monday.In his bail application, Asaram had claimed that his wife Laxmi Devi was seriously ill and had been admitted in the hospital. Since he has been in jail for past five years continuously, he should be granted bail to attend to his wife. His wife is said to be ill and is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Ahmedabad.A division bench comprising Justice Sandeep Mehta and Justice Vineet Mathur, while rejecting his bail plea remarked, “the court has no sympathy with such criminals”..
