KANPUR: Eight persons were killed and three others critically injured when the SUV in which they were travelling rammed into a truck parked on the roadside on Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Kannauj district on Wednesday.The accident took place at around 4 am near Banpura village under the limits of Tirwa police station. A police team from Tirwa police station arrived at the mishap site and joined the rescue operation to take out people stuck inside the badly mangled SUV. Those who died have been identified as Khayali Ram (65), Vidhya Devi (45), Santoshi Devi (40) , Shalu (35), Raju (21) and Rajendra (38). The bodies of eight deceased were shifted to morgue while the injured, including driver Pappu Yadav, were later shifted to Tirwa Medical College from where they were referred to Kanpur.
