Heavy rain takes 14 lives in UP, toll climbs up to 106

LUCKNOW: Moderate to heavy rain was reported from most parts of state on Wednesday. At Elgin bridge in Barabanki though it was still flowing 0.3metre above the danger mark it showed a declining trend.Sharda at Palia Kalan in Lakhimpur Kheri was also flowing 0.8 metre above the danger mark and was recorded stable. Although the rainfall activity declined in the later half on Wednesday, widespread rainfall is expected in the state on Thursday. Yamuna which was flowing above the danger mark in Muzaffarnagar on Tuesday though receded it continued to breach the mark in Mathura by flowing at least 0.1 metre above it and still rising. The three rivers which breached the danger mark were Ghaghra in Faizabad and Barabanki, Sharda in Lakhimpur Kheri and Yamuna in Mathura.Ghaghra again crossed the danger mark at Ayodhya in Faizabad flowing at least 0.02 metre above it but showed a stable trend..
