Ganga continues to rise, close to warning mark

At 8 pm, the river was flowing 111.92 metre mark but at 8 am, the water level was at 111.89 metre mark. Its water level at Shuklaganj in Unnao reached very close to the warning mark of 112 metre. KANPUR: After a slight dip, Ganga continues to rise and on Wednesday. According to the irrigation department, the river is expected to touch 112.10 metre mark at Shuklaganj on Thursday morning.At the Ganga barrage, while the water level in the upstream at 8 am was 113.14 metre mark, at 8 pm it was 113.20 metre. At 8 am, the water level in the downstream was 112.88 metre which rose to 112.92 metre mark at 8 pm on Wednesday.At the barrage, the warning mark is at 114 metre and the danger mark at 115 metre.Large quantity of water is being released from Narora on a daily basis..
