A team of doctors had arrived from Mumbai on Thursday for the treatment.The team had used an advanced medical setup called ECMO (Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation).ADG Kanpur Zone Avinash Chandra along with his wife has visited the Regency hospital on Sunday morning to inquire about the well being of IPS Das. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed his deepest condolences to IPS Das's family on his sad demise.“It is with profound grief that we inform about the sad demise of IPS Surendra Kumar Das at 12:19pm today,” the Regency Hospital meanwhile said in a bulletin.The IPS's condition had deteriorated on Saturday morning following which director general of police (DGP) OP Singh had visited the hospital on Saturday.Das was transferred Kanpur in the month of August and was posted as a Superintendent of Police (East).He had allegedly attempted suicide by consuming celphos on Wednesday morning at his official residence in the Cantt area of the city.He was immediately rushed to Ursala Horseman hospital from where he was later shifted to Regency Hospital for treatment.Das, a native of Ballia was a 2014 batch IPS officer..
