Leopard attacks villagers in Hamirpur, 8 injured

KANPUR: Eight persons were injured when they were attacked by a leopard in Fattepurwa village in Maudaha town in Hamirpur on Sunday. "The incident took place at around 8 am on Sunday. The villagers informed the police and the forest officials.But by the time they arrived, the animal had escaped into the forest cover. The incident took place on Sunday after a leopard strayed into Fattepurwa village from nearby Khadeh forest cover.It attacked Ram Babu Tiwari, Hari Om, Ram Das, Ram Avtar, Atul, Mohan, Badri Prasad and Sukhdeo, all residents of Fattepurwa village, said forest officials.
