BJP win four berths in KMC working committee elections

KANPUR: Out of six vacant berths, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won four berths in the working committee of Kanpur Municipal Corporation elections held here on Saturday. TheBJP win four berths in KMC working committee electionssix working committee members were elected after withdrawal of nominations.The networking for six berths amongst 110 corporators had been continuing for the last couple of months as independent candidates were adamant to get atleast one seat in the working committee. The 12-member working committee had six berths which were lying vacant following ouster of six members from the committee last year. Suhail Ahmad and Ashwani Chaddha of Samajwadi Party and Congress party respectively were elected on the remaining two berths. Four BJP corporators who were elected are Hari Shankar Gupta, Avanish Khanna, Anup Kumar Shukla and Dinesh Tiwari..
