UP Board: 689 students skip exam on Day One

Kanpur: As many as 689 students skipped the UP Board examination on the first day at various centres in the city on Thursday.Around 29 students were absent in the morning session in which music, singing paper of High School was held. Besides, 130 observers, six flying squads and as many as 6,972 invigilators have been deployed.Three static magistrates have be deputed at the most sensitive centres, he added. Only, 448 appeared in the exams. Remaining 48,189 are of Intermediate.He said the Board has fixed as many as 141 examination centres of which three have been termed as most sensitive, while 23 have been placed under the sensitive category.The district authorities have deputed 11 zonal magistrates and 17 sector magistrates for copying-free examinations. Similarly, around 660 students were absent in morning and evening sessions of Intermediate.In morning session, paper of wood, book-craft and sewing was held and in the evening session, papers of education and psychology were scheduled, according to district inspector of schools.Around 5,249 examinees appeared in Intermediate examinations in both sessions.The DIoS said around 1,04,355 students are appearing in the examinations in the city, out of which 56,166 are of HS..
