Modi to lay foundation of mega projects in Kashi, Kanpur today

Varanasi/Kanpur: With just days to go for announcement of the electoral schedule and the model code coming into force, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make a whistle-stop tour of Uttar Pradesh and lay foundations of several projects in Varanasi, Kanpur and Ghaziabad. He will also distribute keys to beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana. He will instead address a public meeting at Nirala Nagar railway ground.Setting up of new industrial units would draw investment of Rs 65,000 crore, said industrial development minister Satish Mahana.He will unveil the Panki Power Plant and inaugurate the Lucknow Metro Rail Project through a video link from Amausi airport. In his constituency, Varanasi, he will lay the foundation of the flagship Kashi Vishwanath Temple expansion (corridor) project and address women self-help groups with National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM).He will also felicitate women associated with NRLM on International Women’s Day and give an opportunity to women to narrate their success stories.The PM will then land in the industrial city of Kanpur to launch projects and lay foundations of 298 others, but give a miss to the ground breaking ceremony at IIT-K due to his packed itinerary..
