Police said Prem Nath Mishra, 65, succumbed to Covid-related complications on Friday, three days after he was admitted to Balrampur District Hospital.

Police said Prem Nath Mishra, 65, succumbed to Covid-related complications on Friday, three days after he was admitted to Balrampur District Hospital.

“The body was handed over to the family members as per the Covid protocol.

It has come to light that prima facie, the body was thrown in the river and we have lodged a case,” said Balrampur Chief Medical Officer VB Singh.

After the video came to light, an FIR was filed at the Kotwali (Dehat) station against Mishra’s nephew Sanjay Kumar, and a local identified as Manoj.
