Kashmir`s Dangal girl makes public apology over her `appearance with politicians`

On a day when Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti made a reference to Dangal girl Zaira Waseem in the upper house of the legislature, the teenage star from Kashmir who played the role of Geeta Phogat in recently released Amir Khan starrer Dangal, took to social networking site Facebook Monday and issued a public apology.

Zaira had received criticism on social media circles apparently for her meeting with politicians.

Her Facebook post reads, “This is an open confession/apology.

I know that many people have been offended and displeased by my recent actions or by the people I have recently met.” A few days ago, a photograph of Zaira with CM Mehbooba Mufti appeared in mainstream media, which draw flak from many people particularly youth.

The post further reads that she wants to apologize to all those who she may have “unintentionally hurt”.
