Kerala floods: Over thirty thousand people still in relief camps in Malappuram

MALAPPURAM: Over thirty thousand people from flood-affected areas are still staying in 127 relief camps across Malappuram district, though there is no heavy rain reported in the district during last two days.On Monday, 2059 persons who were staying in camps returned to home and 28 camps were closed. 35 relief camps in Tirur taluk recorded highest number of inmates when Ponnani taluk recorded second highest with 2983 inmates. All relief camps functioned in Perinthalmanna taluk were closed by Monday.Higher education minister K T Jaleel will attend a review meeting to be held at Malappuram on August 23.
