MALAPPURAM: A newborn was found abandoned in front of a house at Potathappadi near Tirur on Tuesday morning.The one-day-old girl, who was found in courtyard of the house around 5am, has been shifted to Kozhikode Medical College for treatment.It was around 5am when the baby was found in front of the house of social worker Kumari Sukumaran, who had set up an ‘Ammathottil’, near her house. “Only after receiving police investigation report we can start the procedures regarding the adoption of the child”, he said adding that the procedures will start only after two months.He said that the adoption procedure of abandoned baby is different from that of a surrendered baby and an orphaned baby..
