ALAPPUZHA: Two engineering students were killed and one of them was charred to death when their bike collided with a truck on NH 66 at Haripad on Thursday morning.The deceased have been identified as Sankarkumar, 20, Mavelikkara, and Kiran, 20, Mulakkuzha, Chengannur . Kiran was charred to death on the spot and Sankar died on the way to Alappuzha Medical College Hospital. Their two -wheeler collided with the truck carrying plastic furniture to Ernakulam from Thirunelveli when they were moving to their homes. The reason for the fire has not been ascertained and we sought the help of motor vehicle department to find the reason for it,’’ said Manoj. They rode their bike as non- stop and visited Kodaikanal, Palani and Coimbatore..
