KOZHIKODE: The Kuttiady police on Sunday arrested three persons in connection with the attack on CPM district secretary P Mohanan’s son and daughter in-law. P Mohanan’s son Julius Nikitas and his wife Sanio Manomi were manhandled by a gang of hartal supporters at Ambalathukulangara near Kuttiady here on Saturday.The couple was attacked when they were moving toward Kuttiady in their car. The attack was carried out allegedly by a gang of RSS workers who were blocking the road as part of the hartal called by the Hindu Aikya Vedi following the preventive custody of K P Sasikala.The police identified the arrested accused as M K Sreeju (18) and K P Aswin (21) from Kakkat, and E Sudheesh (39) from Nettoor. According to the statement of the complainants, the couple was attacked by a gang of ten persons.The police have charged the accused under section 308 (attempt to murder) and various other sections of the Indian Penal Code.The trio were produced before the judicial first class magistrate Koyilandy who is also the in-charge of the Nadapuram First Class Judicial Magistrate Court..
