Land shortage hits development of medical college, cancer centre

KOCHI: Despite heading for a big leap in the development front, Ernakulam Government Medical College (EGMC) does not have adequate land for the development of the college and Cochin Cancer and Research Centre (CCRC). Work on the Rs 25-crore imaging centre at EGMC, which would be helpful to thousands of patients is also progressing. The land retrieved from Zoom Developers could be used for the development of EGMC. A portion of the land could now be used for the development of CCRC as well. Around 40 acres leased out to Zoom Developers, a private firm, for industrial purpose couldn’t be used by the firm..
