Case against Kanakadurga, who entered Sabarimala, for assaulting mother-in-law

After their temple visit both had gone into hiding due to threats. The clash between them occurred around 7am on Tuesday, when Kanakadurga, who returned after her Sabarimala visit, tried to enter her husband’s house.It was on January 2 that Kanakadurga, along with Kozhikode native Bindu Ammini, entered the Sabarimala temple under police protection, after making a failed attempt on December 24. Earlier Sumathiyamma had alleged that it was Kanakadurga who first attacked her and she also sought treatment at government taluk hospital in Perinthalmanna. Brother of Kanakadurga, Bharathbhushan also had raised the same allegation against Kanakadurga.SI of Perinthalmanna P S Manjithlal said that cases were registered against both Kanakadurga and Sumathiyamma as both assaulted each other. Kanakadruga who was allegedly beaten up by Sumathiyamma is still under treatment at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital (KMCH)..
