KOLHAPUR: A one-day hearing over Maratha reservation demand will take place at the district collector’s office from 11am to 5pm on Monday. District head of Maratha Mahasangh Vasantrao Mulik said, “We have been collecting references and documents supporting our demand since the announcement was made.” Any person in his or her individual capacity, Maratha outfits, women representatives and scholars can present their case for reservation demand.Applicants have to submit their evidences claiming social and educational backwardness of the community in written form. The hearing will be presided over by the chairman of the Maharashtra State Backward Class Commission (MSBCC) retired Justice M G Gaikwad.Maratha organisations from Kolhapur and Sangli districts will submit their petitions to the members of MSBCC.
