Kolhapur to get moderate rainfall in next 2 days

KOLHAPUR: A day after receiving moderate rainfall, the city remained considerably dry on Monday.According to India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials, the city will receive moderate rainfall for the next two days which will be followed by thundershowers.Though the city received less rainfall on Sunday and Monday, the other parts of district, adjacent to Western Ghats continued to receive heavy rainfall. As per IMD forecast, Kolhapur city will receive moderate rain on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the sky will remain cloudy.The intensity is likely to increase from Thursday onwards with one or two spells of rainfall or thundershowers. The city will experience rain or thundershower on June 16 and 17.According to district administration officials, Kolhapur received 35.86mm rainfall on Monday with Chandgad taluka receiving maximum 101mm rainfall. The capacity of Dudhganga dam is 25.40 TMC and at present the dam has 6.44 TMC water. The water available in Koyna dam from Satara district is 27.36 TMC and the capacity of dam is 105.25 TMC.In Kolhapur district , the water in Radhanagari dam having capacity of 8.36 TMC is 2.81 TMC..
