Centralised admission process for Class XI commences today

But often parents and students remain stubborn on only one college for admission, which needs to be stopped.The officials from the deputy director of education’s office said the CAP committee has promised that there will be enough seats available in all streams. From the division, Kolhapur district topped the results with 95.35% passing.Education experts said the the increase in SSC results might have major impact on the cut-off list.Experts also said that there are ample seats available across city colleges. Kolhapur: The centralized admission process (CAP) for class XI admissions is set to begin on Monday with the sale of admission forms in six junior colleges in the city.Officials said bilingual (English and Marathi) forms, printed in different colours for arts, science, commerce and bifocal streams, will be available till June 30.The CAP committee said open category candidates have to furnish a printout of their secondary school certificate (SSC) online mark sheet for buying the admission form.Students claiming caste-based quota benefits should furnish attested photocopy of their caste certificate or school leaving certificate (SLC) that mentions their caste.The committee cautioned the aspirants against handing over the original mark sheet, SLC or any other supporting document to any unauthorized person.The process is being supervised by the deputy director of education, Kolhapur region.An official from the office of the deputy director of education said the originals will be required only at the time of verification of documents at the CAP centre and will have to be submitted only when an authorized person asks for them.The CAP committee consisting of education department officials and principals and representatives of all the junior colleges, said the students and parents should also consider the last year’s cut-offs at colleges.In the first week of June, the committee had briefed junior college principals about the steps to be taken for guiding students/parents at CAP centres, responsibilities of principals, and procedures to be adopted.This year, Kolhapur division has improved its class X results by 0.29% to 93.88%, compared to last year and retained the second spot for the sixth successive year among the nine divisions of Maharashtra..
