13ft crocodile rescued from Kolhapur farm

A 13-foot-long crocodile was rescued from a farm in Sainik Takali village of Shirol taluka in Kolhapur on Thursday night after the residents informed wildlife activists.The activists rescued the crocodile at around 3am on Friday and handed over it to the forest department officials. They raised an alarm and called the Sainik Takali villager," said a senior forest department official.The villagers passed on information to the forest officials. The crocodile was later released in the Krishna river , the forest department official said. They were passing the Khidrapur road along the field of Vankore family on Thursday night, when they noticed the reptile. We are trying to find out when the reptile managed to enter in the field," an official said..
