City students unite for cleanliness drive

Youngsters from the city recently got together to ensure cleanliness of their surroundings. The students also painted walls with the messages and planted over 500 trees in a period of 15 days. Along with studies, students spent three to four hours daily on weekdays while on Sundays they dedicated the entire day towards the cause. They also conducted sessions where villagers they shared the message of keeping one’s surroundings clean, through audio-visuals. According to a report in Maharashtra Times, to spread awareness in the Talsande village in Kolhapur district , students of Tatyasaheb Kore Dental College came together and conducted a cleanliness drive spread over 100 hours.They not only cleaned the village but also created awareness among villagers about the segregation of garbage, importance of the toilets, cleaning of home and nearby area etc..
