Varsity to hold campus interviews from Thursday

KOLHAPUR: The Shivaji University Kolhapur (SUK) in association with the Centre for Skill and Entrepreneurship Development and the Centre for Distance Education at SUK will organize campus interviews for students from the banking sector from Thursday onwards.The varsity’s website stated the first interview will be held at the Centre for Distance Education on August 23 from 11am onwards. The pro-vice-chancellor D T Shirke in his perspective plan presentation last month said the varsity is targeting at least 25,000 placements by 2024 by the placement cell.Earlier this year, in the SENATE meeting on the efforts being taken by the SUK to create employment opportunities, the officials had said the SUK had been organizing mega job fairs, campus interviews and off-campus initiatives. Students between 20 to 27-years-old with graduation in any discipline other than engineering are eligible.The employers are offering facilities including noon meal allowance, insurance, yearly bonus, travel allowance, family shifting allowance, marriage gift allowance among others.The officials said the university is serious about increasing the present placement record..
