Kolhapur: The unrest of sugar cane growers over the partial payment of the FRP (Fair and Remunerative Price) by sugar factories continued for the second day with angry farmers locking the sugar cane registration offices of eight sugar mills from Sangli district. The farmers were actually demanding that the millers pay them FRP+ Rs200 per tonne. As per the rule, the farmers should get Rs2750 per tonne as the FRP but the millers have deposited only Rs2300 per tonne in their accounts.
