Kesarkar, Gavandi to resign from standing committee

KOLHAPUR: Two standing committee members - Pravin Kesarkar and Madhavi Gavandi - are going to resign from the panel on Thursday.The duo will submit their resignations to mayor Sarita More during the special general body meeting called on Thursday. Both were inducted into the committee after Dipa Magdum and Sachin Patil resigned ahead of the election to select the chairman of the committee. The election was won by Congress nominee Sharangdhar Deshmukh.It is now confirmed that both Magdum and Patil will now make a comeback into the committee. Now, both will be re-nominated in the standing committee and even though they are disqualified now, Deshmukh will remain chairman for the next one year..
