Business activities remain shut to pay tribute to Pulwama martyrs

We had communicated with all the businessmen, traders and allied activities and had appealed them to participate in the bandh. All of them voluntarily came forward and observed the bandh. The bandh was successfully observed throughout the country.The traders also organized a peaceful rally in the Gujari area of the city to condemn the terrorist attack.The bandh was observed after 40 CRPF personnel were martyred when their convoy was attacked by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Kolhapur: The business and trading activities in Kolhapur city remained closed on Monday to protest against the Pulwama attack and pay tribute to the martyrs of the attack.All the shops on major roads including Mahadwar road, Papachi Tikti, Gujari and other areas of the city remained shut to participate in the nationwide shutdown.Sanjay Shete, president of the Kolhapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry said, “All the businessmen and traders including shop owners and other trading communities voluntarily participated in the bandh called by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT). The trading activities in all the parts of the city remained shut, except the essential activities as well as the public transport.”The prominent markets including Mahadwar Road, Rajarampuri, Shahupuri, Chappal Lane, Laxmipuri, Gujari, Paan Line and Shivaji Road remained shut to condemn the recent terror attack in Pulwama.The hawkers on all the major roads in the city abstained from occupying the footpaths to support the bandh.At many places, including at Gujari and other market areas, the traders had put up boards stating that they condemn the Pulwama attack and have shut down their businesses to condemn the Pulwama attack and all of them are ready to make sacrifices for the country..
