Kolhapur: As part of the International Women’s Day celebrations, the Maharashtra Times had organised an all-women power rally on Sunday. After More flagged off the rally, balloons wereset free in the air.The selfie sessions, and candid shots continued throughout the event. They were seen wearing traditional Maharashtran attire as well as western outfits.The inclusivity made the rally more graceful.Individuals and groups were spotted carrying various placards bearing different social messages on them, including ‘Beti Bachaao Beti Padaao’, ‘Naari Shakti Zindabad’, and ‘Save Environment,’ among others.Before the start of the rally, participants from the Bhalkar Kala Academy, Wakeup Dance Academy and Zest Dance Academy staged dance performances. The rally, which started from Padmaraje high school premises, covered various areas of the city and concluded at Vivekanand College.After the flag-off at the hands of Sarita More, Kolhapur city mayor, the hoots and the honks never died for a moment as the participants followed their designated route.It was a colourful event as women from all age groups and from different walks of life were seen zooming on their two-wheelers..
