KOLKATA: In what is being claimed as a highly suspicious transaction, the detective department has nabbed five persons on Thursday evening who had come to Kolkata to sell what they claim is one kg Uranium, priced at Rs 3 crore in the open market. Cops are not ruling out this incident as a con act but say that they will comment further only after confirmation from experts "in this sensitive case," Uranium is a highly radioactive substance that is used in nuclear facilities.Police said the accused had assembled at Mango Lane at Dalhousie and identified them as Jawed Miadad, SK Mughal, Younus Biswas, Md Shahjahan Mondal and Basant Singh. The accused is from Nanoor in Birbhum, Sutahata in Purba Midnapore, Baduria in North 24 Parganas and Behrampore in Murshidabad.The cops have also recovered forged government recruitment letters and marksheets from the accused..
