KOLKATA: Last year, residents of Salt Lake had to negotiate pathetic road stretches almost throughout the year as no repair work could be carried out till December. The civic authorities were asked to prepare a detailed proposal on road repairs for all the 41wards which was later submitted by BMC.Residents are happy that the civic body has taken up road repair work early this year. The repair work was taken up only in December after the dues were cleared. “It’s good that they have taken up the repair work on an urgent basis this year considering the fact that work was severely hampered last year,” said Bidhannagar Welfare Association secretary Sarat Mullick.
