KOLKATA: A Honda City car speeding along Park Circus Connector crashed into a Maa flyover pillar and turned turtle after the driver allegedly tried to slow down seeing a roadside digital speed indicator installed near Topsia Hindu Burial ground on Sunday morning. Thankfully he was wearing his seatbelts and the airbags too got operated on time that saved the man from a possible fatal injury," said a senior police officer. Police said the incident happened around 10.30am, when the driver suddenly saw the speed indicator flashing before his eyes signalling he was over-speeding when he tried to slow down but in the attempt lost control of the vehicle.The driver however escaped with minor injuries as he was belted and the airbags inflated on time. He was taken to Topsia police station after first aid and was later booked for reckless driving.Cops also brought in toeing vans, got the car back on its wheels before toeing it back to the police station..
