KOLKATA: An app-cab driver allegedly assaulted a passenger and verbally abused him following an altercation with him after the cabby took a wrong route to the passenger’s office at Sector V.
When he was being assaulted none of the bystanders came forward to help him.
Worse, his ordeal continued both at police station and the app-cab office, where he went lodge a complaint against the driver.
Rantideb Mukhrjee, a copywriter with a multi-national communication agency, had booked an Uber on Tuesday for a ride to his work from his Naktala home.
“I was already late.
When the car was at Sector V and I was busy writing an email on my phone, the driver took a wrong lane, which would increase the journey time by 10-minutes.
When I confronted him, the cabby halted the car near Sasthya Bhavan and started hurling abuses at me.
