Dry spell to end this week in Kolkata, predicts Met

  KOLKATA: The city can expect an end to the dry run by Thursday, predicts the Met office .

A cyclonic circulation is likely to form by July 24, triggering rain thereafter.

If the cyclonic circulation transforms into a low pressure area, the rainfall activity could be intense.

"All these days the monsoon flow has been weak in southern Bengal .

But we are expecting a turnaround by mid-week.

We expect normal monsoon between July 25 and 31," said GK Das, director (weather) at Regional Meteorological Centre Kolkata.

July and August are the peak monsoon months.
