Naka checking to be stricter to rein in speed demons

Kolkata: The city police will intensify 'naka checking' at night in view of the major accident that happened in South Kolkata in which two Bangladeshi nationals were killed. Pandey Santosh, Deputy Commissioner of Traffic, said there is a craze among some young adults who are children of rich parents to drive their premium cars or motor cycles at night and drive them at very high speed. The cars that are driven at night include premium models of BMW, Porche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lexus and Mercedes Benz. The DC further added that the police will intensify vigil on the premium cars at night and 'naka checking' will also be intensified. It may be mentioned that the state government has banned racing of bikes on flyovers which had become a deadly menace at night..
