Kolkata: Vidyapati Setu, commonly known as Sealdah flyover, has been opened for vehicular movement on Sunday afternoon after completion of load testing procedure. The flyover was closed since August 15 evening for load capacity testing by the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA). During the period, tram services along APC Road, M G Road, Bidhan Sarani and Lenin Sarani were either suspended or restricted. However, congestion did occur at Central Avenue on Friday, which was expected as vehicular traffic had increased a lot and due to heavy rain on Friday, the situation turned worse.
