State govt allots funds to contain dengue in districts

Kolkata: The state government has allotted a fund of Rs 7 crore to check the spread of dengue in the state. The state has asked the Health department to contain the disease in all districts. The state government is trying to ensure that no dengue cases are reported in the districts after many were affected with the disease in parts of North 24-Parganas. According to a Health department official, five persons died of dengue in the district so far and more than 2,000 patients have been affected with the disease. The Health officials also believe that heavy shower in various South Bengal districts will destroy mosquito larvae..
