Kolkata: Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Tuesday said it has seized 10 kilograms of gold, smuggled into the country through Indo-Myanmar border, and arrested three persons in connection with the case. The 60 pieces of gold biscuits of Myanmar origin were concealed in the two headrests of the middle seat of the vehicle, the statement added. The agency also said the gold, smuggled into India through Indo-Myanmar border in Mizoram, was supposed to be delivered to someone in Kolkata. DRI arrested three persons carrying the gold under provisions of the Customs Act of 1962, the statement said adding that further investigations are going on to unearth the kingpins of the smuggling racket.
